White tea, black tea, rose and witch hazel, among others, may contain compounds beneficial.

In a study published in 2009 showed that the pink and white tea help protect against the breakdown of elastin and collagen, as bladderwrack, gardener’s love, green tea, angelica, anise and pomegranate. Elastin supports the body’s natural elasticity and helps the functioning of the lungs, arteries, ligaments and skin. It also helps the body repair tissue when wounded and contributes to the firmness of the skin. Collagen is a protein found in connective tissues of the body and is important for skin strength and elasticity. In this article we will discuss on some beneficial properties with black tea, white tea, rose and witch hazel.

Black tea may help fight diabetes

Long known for its antioxidant properties, activating the immune system and against high blood pressure, tea black may have another health benefit. Black tea can be used to control diabetes, according to a study published in 2009 in the Journal of Food Science, published by the Institute of Food Technology of the United States.

After water, tea is the second most consumed beverage in the world. Tianjin Key Laboratory Researchers in China studied the levels of polysaccharides in green tea, long and black and if these can be used to treat diabetes. Polysaccharides, a type of carbohydrate including starch and cellulose, may benefit people with diabetes because they help slow the absorption of glucose.

The potential of black tea

The researchers found that of the three teas, black tea polysaccharides had the best properties to inhibit glucose. Black tea polysaccharides also showed the greatest effects of free radical scavenging, which are involved in diseases like cancer and rheumatoid arthritis. There have been many efforts to find effective inhibitors of glucose in natural materials. There is potential for the exploitation of black tea polysaccharides in order to treat diabetes.

Green tea, white tea and black tea come from the same plant

White tea is made from the buds and first leaves of the plant used to make green tea and black tea are more common in Western countries. It is less processed than other teas and contains more of the ingredients that are believed to be active in human cells, such as methylxanthines (like caffeine) and epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG), the authors of a study published in 2009, believe that this latter compound is responsible for many effects against the formation of fat cells demonstrated by the white tea. Hence its possible uses for combat obesity.

The beneficial properties of witch hazel, white tea and rose

In collaboration from Kingston University in London and the British beauty brand Neal’s Yard has been discovered that white tea, witch hazel and rose have very beneficial properties for health and beauty.
They tested 21 plant extracts for evidence on their effectiveness in fighting cancer and aging. Of the 21 extracts, three, white tea, witch hazel and pink showed a considerable potential, with the white tea better results. It seems to make a single cup of white tea may help reduce the risk of an individual to cancer, rheumatoid arthritis and even age-related wrinkles.

Using human skin cells as a model, the scientists added three different concentrations of white tea (as freeze dried powder), Hamamelis (dead branches) and rose extract (medicinal tincture form) to see if the mixtures have an effect in the suppression of the enzymes and oxidants that play a key role in the development of inflammation, as in the aging of the skin. It turned out that the three extracts worked well.
